Highbridge & Concourse Village
Neighborhood Intelligence

Highbridge and Concourse Village form Bronx Community District 4, a densely populated district stretching from the Harlem River north to Burnside Avenue along the western edge of the Bronx. The Grand Concourse — a 4.5-mile Bronx boulevard modeled on Parisian boulevards — runs through the eastern part of the district past Yankee Stadium, which sits at 161st Street. High Bridge, one of New York's oldest bridges, connects the Bronx to Manhattan over the Harlem River at the district's southern end.

The neighborhood is characterized by large Art Deco apartment buildings along the Grand Concourse, denser brick walk-ups on side streets, and NYCHA developments. The area has a predominantly Dominican and Puerto Rican community and has seen investment tied to the Yankee Stadium development corridor since the new stadium opened in 2009. Macombs Dam Park and the renovated High Bridge Park provide significant recreational green space.
