Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CivicScout, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
CivicScout provides location intelligence by aggregating publicly available municipal data including building permits, crime reports, zoning records, and traffic crashes. Reports and analyses are generated using AI and should be used for informational purposes only.
3. Accuracy Disclaimer
CivicScout provides impact analysis based on public records. Data may be incomplete, delayed, or contain errors from source systems. Always verify details with your local building department, assessor, or relevant authority for official use. CivicScout is not a substitute for professional due diligence.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Refunds & Digital Goods
Address reports are digital goods delivered instantly when you use a subscription credit. Once a credit is consumed, that transaction is non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal — cancellation stops future charges but does not refund credits already used.
If you experience a technical issue that prevents report delivery, contact us at contact@civicscout.co for assistance. Goodwill exceptions may be granted at our sole discretion.
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not use CivicScout to discriminate against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics, scrape data at scale beyond normal usage, or resell CivicScout data without authorization.
7. Limitation of Liability
CivicScout is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for decisions made based on data provided by the service.
