Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Information We Collect

CivicScout collects information you provide directly (email address, name) when you create an account. We also collect usage data including search queries (addresses), pages visited, and browser type to improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide location intelligence reports, send weekly monitoring email updates you opt into, process payments, and improve CivicScout. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Sources

CivicScout aggregates publicly available data from municipal open data portals, including building permits, crime reports, traffic crashes, and zoning records. This data is already public record.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payment processing, Mapbox for map imagery, Vercel for hosting, and Resend for email delivery. Each service has its own privacy policy.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard settings. This permanently removes your account data, saved reports, and monitored addresses. Cached public data (permits, reports) may persist in our cache for up to 7 days.
