Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace comprise Brooklyn Community District 7, stretching from the Upper New York Bay waterfront east to the Prospect Expressway. Sunset Park is a densely populated, diverse neighborhood with large Chinese and Latino communities concentrated along 8th Avenue and Fifth Avenue respectively. The neighborhood takes its name from the hillside park at 41st to 44th Streets that offers panoramic views of Lower Manhattan and New York Harbor. Windsor Terrace, in the eastern portion of the district, is a quieter, largely residential enclave bordering Prospect Park.

Sunset Park's Industrial Business Zone along the waterfront includes the Brooklyn Army Terminal and Industry City, a massive former industrial complex that has been redeveloped as a mixed-use creative and commercial campus employing thousands of workers. The district's dense residential blocks feature attached row houses, two-family homes, and apartment buildings that attract working families drawn by relatively more affordable rents compared to neighboring Park Slope.
