The Eastern Market Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Convent and Rectory, the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Complex and Hook and Ladder House No. 5/Detroit Fire Department Repair Shop. The Engine 6 fire station is also inside, and Gratiot Avenue, Russell Street, Mack Avenue and Chene Street run through the area.
