About Edison Park

Edison Park is a community area on Chicago's Far Northwest Side, bordered by the city of Park Ridge to the north and west, Norwood Park to the south and east, and the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line running through its center. The neighborhood is among the smallest and least densely populated community areas in Chicago, with a distinctly suburban character defined by single-family homes, well-maintained lawns, and quiet residential streets.

The area was the last neighborhood to be annexed into Chicago, joining the city in 1910 to gain access to its water system. Edison Park's commercial district along Northwest Highway serves as its main street, with local shops, restaurants, and services. The Metra Edison Park station provides convenient commuter rail access to downtown Chicago. The neighborhood's housing stock is predominantly single-family homes, ranging from early 20th-century bungalows to mid-century ranches.
